The idea for The ABC Directory began in October of 1989 when I went to my first art & craft event just a few miles down the road from my home in Maryville, TN. My son, Evans wasn't quite 3 years old, but he immediately took a liking to the atmosphere given off by this event. The paintings, the toys, the foods. He was in heaven. I thought to myself, what a great way for a child to learn - to pique his interest in the arts. Right then and there, I wanted to experience more of these types of events. At that time, few vendors knew of a source, so I decided I would gather information. In March of 1993, the first publication was born, and the information keeps getting together up to this day.
Evans, my little boy, is now 22 and heading into manhood and now there is Chance, who at age 7 is ready to follow in his older brother's footsteps.
ABC is beginning its 17th year and the promise is the same, and that promise is - We will do our best to make our national directory THE Directory for Art & Craft Events. You can depend on us for accuracy and value.
